Monday Mahem (updated video)
Today was a busy day! Jo, Andy, Warren, Cam and I took a city bus partway and then walked part way to an area of the city which has a type of "mall" called Friendship mall. I use this term very loosely :) It is a four level building with various stores. There is even a "Starbucks"...not really, it is called Caldi's but uses the same colors as the Starbucks colors. We find there are many stores here that use similar names to what we find in North America. Osh Kosh for kids here is Ash Kash for children, Walmart is Allmart, there is a Home Depot (basic little hardware store). Here is our little group having our treats.
We ended up buying some essentials from a large supermarket type store that sells groceries as well as small appliances and furniture. Things are the same price but more often more expensive than at home but not as good of quality. However food tends to be cheaper especially if you buy it from the street vendors. Jolena and I made a huge pot of soup tonight for supper with nice beef and vegetables and it cost about 8 dollars to feed the 6 of us. Here are some videos of our taxi ride home
