Growing up we had this plant at home. We called it a Christmas cactus because it bloomed like this at Christmas time.
Roses!
A type of Daisy I think
Not sure about the rest of these. Maybe someone could post what they are :)
Our Back door to the right of the picture. Straight ahead are three extra rooms. Lots of room for company hint hint!!

hi Jenn & Warren
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see your updates on experiences an on th conditions of Ethiopia. I am so glad you are settling in nicely. As I look at your updates it makes me even miss home more and more, hope to be there next year. cant wait to see more updates. enjoy!
I'm enjoying your blog and email on the bus into work this morning. You seem to be well taken care of...
ReplyDeleteI think of you over there everytime I have McDs (fairly often) - it's my "remembrance mode" like we heard about at Airdrie special meetings last year.
You were asking about the flowers... Well, if I remember correctly (from all my botany classes), I'm pretty sure you've got some pansies, an orchid, a venus fly trap, and some lesser-known, spotted, Ethiopian dandelions there. You're welcome.
Such a beautiful place!!! Not at all what we would picture in our minds!!!! Looks like you are settling right in!!! Such beautiful flowers
ReplyDeleteWe think of you so often ... sending much love!!!
It's great to have a visual of where you now call home. Doesn't look like you'll need to plant any flowers in your yard any time soon. We spotted your family picture hanging (a smidge high!) in the dining room, nice that you were able to take that along....however we don't see our picture up anywhere!! =)
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Darren for your informative post on the greenery...I am sure you are correct about it all..... :)
ReplyDeleteLaura we see you and your husbands smiling face on our digital frame every day :)
Jen, thanks for your post! we are very fortunate the live here in this neighborhood. We miss you all too! Chances are you will be safe this April Fools day from Warren :)
Gelila we are looking forward to you coming back here!!!
I am so excited to find your blog! We met the school teacher's mother in MT while traveling (sorry I am bad at names & can't seem to find her address/name) but we have 2 adopted children from ET and have traveled twice to Addis Ababa! Our adopted children have only been with us 2 years and since then Carolyn was in our field, working on her Amharic with Eden, our ET daughter!! I love to see your picts and think so often of the ministry there!! I remember seeing poinsettias as well when we visited ET and was in awe of how large they were!!
ReplyDeleteHi! I am JoLena's sister here in Minnesota. Thanks for taking such good care of her! It's good to have a network in a different place. Thanks for all the pictures that gives insight to the area! It kind of reminds me of Arizona, where we used to live. Keep posting!! Claudia Timmann
